For Alan & Mairit's intimate backyard wedding, Mel and I started our day in Salem, Virginia at the May Family's beautiful property nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The house was bustling with excited family and friends, as they anticipated the union of this dear couple.
A beautiful, wooden arbor overlooked the mountains from the backyard, and was decorated with flowers and flowing, sheer material. The morning breeze brought a reminder that autumn is just around the corner, and September is officially here!
I found lovely bride-to-be, Mairit, surrounded by her close friends and soon-to-be family as they prepped hair and makeup for the big day. she looked lovely in her wedding dress and veiled updo! As she walked down the aisle, Alan was grinning from ear to ear. After their endearing ceremony with personal vows to one another, Alan showed us the beautiful magnolia and stone bench where his mother and father's relationship first began. Then we walked along the paved driveway and into a small clearing by the woods for some portraits of their first sweet moments as husband and wife. Afterward, their guests enjoyed brunch at the house and the couple cut their delicious wedding cake by JoJo's Cupcakes!
It was the perfect morning for the perfect wedding, and we are so happy that we were able to capture these moments for Alan and Mairit. Congratulations, Dr. & Mrs. May! Wishing you the happiest ever after as husband and wife~*
